I have shown you how to write Application letter for job vacancy in Nigeria in my previous article. Today, I will show you how to write letter of Financial Assistance or support with sample.

There are many reasons why you may find yourself needing to write a financial Assistance letter. Letter of financial assistance is written when seeking for financial aid or support for grants. Again, if you need monetary assistance from variety of organizations such as businesses, companies, ministries, local church as well as friends, relatives or family to;

• start up a personal business
• enrol into higher institution or complete education
• travel out of the country
• finance a project or an event etc

Whatever your intension(s) is/are for seeking financial assistance, the format for writing the application letter is always the same.

First let’s look at the parts of Financial Assistance letter;

• Your address; this should be your contact address.

Example;  12 Ovim Street,

Indepence layout,

Enugu.            

• Receiver’s address

Example;  

The manager,

Firstbank of Nigeria,

Okpara Avenue,

Enugu.    

• Salutation

Example;

1. Sir/Madam,

2. Dear sir/Madam

• Title of the Application Letter

Example;

• Body of the letter and conclusion

The body of the letter should be explicit and direct to point. Tell them what you need the money for, the amount, how you will spend it and what they will gain or expect from you at the end.

I am into fashion and designing. I specialise in sewing of female clothes, decoration and baking. I have been working for people since 2017 after my training. I have gained a working experience within this period and wish to start my own business. I have been able to buy sewing machine and cutting table but I am yet to purchase pressing iron and clothing which may cost me about fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000). I have made inquiring about cost of renting a shop; the cost for a shop per year, agent and lawyer fees ranging between one and forty thousand naira to one and sixty thousand naira (₦140,000 – ₦160,000).

In regard to this, I have been able to save thirty thousand naira (₦30,000). I kindly plead to the church to assist me financially with the sum of one hundred and thirty five thousand naira (₦135,000) to enable me rent a shop, buy pressing iron and clothing to start up the business. My parents are late and do not have any close relative who could help me. I believe that starting my own business would be of a great relieve and also enable me to purse my educational career. Currently, I am living with a friend and hope to rent an apartment in near future if I start the business. I will be very grateful if my request is granted.

I am in a miserable condition right now; not knowing whom I will run to for financial assistance. Sir, you have been so kind to my family. I shall forever remain grateful!
